Microsoft Certified Database Administrator is a premier certification
for those who want to prove expertise in implementing and administering
Microsoft SQL Server. More specifically: developing physical database
designs and logical data models; creating physical databases; creating
data services by using Transact-SQL; managing and maintaining databases;
configuring and managing security; monitoring and optimizing databases;
and installing and configuring SQL Server.

The Benefits
MCDBA titleholders receive the following benefits upon
fulfillment of the requirements:
- Industry recognition of your expertise.
- The right to use the MCDBA logo on business collateral.
- A certificate, transcript, wallet card, and lapel pin to identify
you as an MCDBA to colleagues and clients.

TechNet or TechNet Plus subscription during first year of certification,
and discounted MSDN subscription).

The Tests
The certification requires you to pass three core exams and one elective,
as shown in the following table:

Note: If you had the opportunity to take and pass Exam 70-240, the Accelerated Exam for Windows 2000, you need only take one more Core: Admin (70-028 or 70-228) and one more Core: Design (70-029 or 70-229) to fulfill the MCDBA requirements. More information on all these exams can be found in the table below.
Tests are delivered through Prometric and VUE are the exclusive test providers for these and all Microsoft exams.
