Welcome to History 211

This site is being updated during August. Although I am updating the pages in this site, they may still contain old information and dates...

Tu-Th Mar 101

This is a very different sort of course as the primary materials which we use to understand Japanese history and culture are films. There are, of course, assigned texts as well:

There will be copies of most of these on reserve in the library, but you might also want to search for used copies on the WWW as an alternative to purchasing new in the bookstore.

To better understand this course you need to click through (and read) all of the pages linked above....Bear in mind that as of August, they are still in draft and some particulars may be incorrect. The primary element required for a student to be successful in this course is to schedule one's time very tightly and to work steadily. If you do, it should be a rewarding and relatively easy course. If you do not, it easily becomes a nightmare of late assignments, reduced grades and frustrating outcomes.
