Welcome to ASPAC

Welcome. ASPAC is the Pacific Regional Body of the Association of Asian Studies (AAS), the national (and international) association of professionals, primarily academic, interested in Asian Studies. Members come from the West coast of the United States of America, as well as from Canada , Mexico, and most of the countries of the Pacific region such as: China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, India, etc. This site is housed and produced by the Matsushita Center for Electronic Learning (MCEL) located on the campus of Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, U.S.A. 

ASPAC 2004 was held at The University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, June 18-20, 2004.

ASPAC 2005: ASPAC 2005 will be hosted by the School of Religion at Claremont Graduate University. The dates for the conference are from June 17-19, 2005. http://www.aspac.info

Esterline Prize: We will soon be accepting paper submissions by graduate students for the Esterline Prize. The deadline will be set later, but should be about May 15, 2005. Submissions should be between 15-20 pages. To recieve the award, the student must present the paper at the ASPAC conference (see above). Papers and inquiries should be sent electronically to Stewart Johnson, stewjo@aol.com.
