ASME offers several ways for you to apply for membership.

Apply directly online with ASME.ORG's membership application or student application.
Download the membership application or student application.  You will need Adobe Acrobat to view and print.  This can be downloaded for free.  Mail your application with your resume to the following address;

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU BECOME AN ACTIVE MEMBER

Membership applications are processed within 48 hours of receiving them.  
Your membership is activated once your dues payment is applied.
As a new member you should receive a Welcome Kit two to three weeks after approval.  If you live outside of North America your Welcome Kit should arrive within four to six weeks depending on local mail delivery.  
The Welcome Kit includes descriptions and contact information for ASME benefits. A membership pin, and membership card are also included.  
It should take approximately 4-6 weeks to receive your first issue of ME Magazine and ASME News within North America.  The first issue of ME Magazine is included for members outside North America with your Welcome Kit.
